    Milaca (/mɪˈlækə/ mi-LAK-ə) is a city in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,946 at the 2010 census.[6] It is the county seat of Mille Lacs County[7] and is situated on the Rum River.

    A post office has been in operation at Milaca since 1883.[8] Milaca is a truncated form of Mille Lacs Lake.[9]

    According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.41 square miles (8.83 km2), of which 3.21 square miles (8.31 km2) is land and 0.20 square miles (0.52 km2) is water.[1]
